Lenexa Civic Center • Lenexa, KS

In May 2015, the City of Lenexa, Kan., selected CBC Real Estate Group to provide Owner’s Representative Services for the Lenexa Civic Center. In this role, CBC managed and represented the City’s interests for the $75 million Civic Center, joining the project team of PGAV Architects and JE Dunn Construction.

Acting on behalf of the City, CBC was responsible for managing design, construction, budgeting, scheduling, accounting and all communications activities related to the 200,000 square-foot project, which is located west of 87th and I-435. Complete in July 2017, the Lenexa Civic Center features a community center with fitness and aquatics facilities, a new City Hall with a 250-seat auditorium, a five-story parking garage, a civic plaza with a farmer’s market and a 10,000 square-foot public market — a concept unique to the Kansas City region.

The new Civic Center campus was designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification for both the City Hall and Recreation Center including energy efficient lighting, high recyclable content in materials, stormwater management and use of native plantings.
